Solar Panels built into the side of a building

Solar thermal and solar photovoltaic installations fit on the roof of your home or on the side of buildings. These are known as ‘building integrated photovoltaics’.

This is an example of ‘building integrated photovoltaics’ (BIPV). Silicon solar panels have been built into the side of a building at The University of Edinburgh.
