“It’s big! Yeah! Big!” Gu Bin, one of the engineers responsible for building the Longyangxia Dam Solar Park in the western province of Qinghai, enthused with a heavy dose of understatement during a rare tour of the mega-project. The remote, 27-square-kilometre solar farm tops an ever-expanding roll call of supersized symbols that underline China’s determination to transform itself from climate villain to green superpower.

Coal country is becoming increasingly fertile solar ground
January 3, 2017 Community solar is coming to Appalachia, an area of the country traditionally fueled by nearby coal mines. Columbus, Ohio-based Buckeye Power will cut the ribbon Thursday on the third project involved in its plans to install 2.1 MW of community solar to the region.

Solar Panel efficiency is usually NOT THE RIGHT QUESTION TO ASK.
One of the most common things people ask when they start to consider going solar or start to plan their life-changing solar expedition is which are the most efficient solar panels. The important matter is not which solar panels are most efficient, but which solar panels are the best value for the money.

Tesla and Panasonic expand solar energy deals
Panasonic will invest more than $256 million in a New York production facility of Elon Musk's Tesla Motors to make photovoltaic cells and modules, deepening a partnership of the two companies.
Production at the plant is expected to begin in summer 2017. Tesla and Panasonic plan to eventually build the energy-converting cells and modules used in Tesla's solar glass tile roofs.

Five community solar sites are sold out!
Community solar is a way for City Light customers who can't or don't want to purchase their own solar systems to add solar to the grid and receive the benefits that come with owning solar panels, but at a size and cost that works for them. You don't need to own a system, and you don't even need to own a home.

Solar is Officially Becoming the Cheapest Form of New Electricity
Solar power is now around half the price of coal and gas, making it cheaper than wind energy, and ultimately the cheapest form of new electricity. Solar power has reached record-low costs in the past. The difference is that past instances were achieved in isolated projects, whereas now we’re talking large-scale implementation.
